Visiting Perth

With a population of 2 million, Perth is the capital and principal city of the state of Western Australia (WA). Crossed by the Swan River, it is one of the most isolated capital cities in the world. There's a wealth of architecture to choose from, and outside the city you'll find plenty of great natural areas to explore. Perth is also home to some splendid beaches with clear water and a wealth of wildlife that is showcased in a number of centres.

Getting to Perth

Perth has its own airport, which is both practical and necessary for such a remote capital city. Perth Airport (PER) is a 20-minute drive from the city centre. However, it is also well served by the city's public transport network. Transperth manages the transport network in and around Perth. To travel, you'll need a SmartRider Card.
