This isolated and paradisiacal island can be reached by water taxi from Mission Beach and boasts lush vegetation and picturesque beaches. There is something for everyone: you can walk around this beautiful island, sunbathe, swim, and even snorkel. Dunk Island is a nice place to relax near Mission Beach.

Between Mission Beach and Townsville inland is the largest waterfall in Australia: Wallaman Falls. Located in Girringun National Park, this waterfall is beautiful and worth a visit. For the most courageous, there is a hike to reach the foot of the waterfall, beware the climb is steep!

Murray Falls, located in Murray Upper, 50 minutes from Mission Beach, features a stunning waterfall in the Murray River and offers a great opportunity to enjoy natural slides. A peaceful and ideal spot to unwind and rejuvenate amidst stunning surroundings.

The Tully River near Mission Beach is not to be missed: you will discover the best rafting in Australia. The Tully River is located in one of the oldest tropical forests in the world.

The Cardwell Spa Pool is a serene natural pool with turquoise water, offering a peaceful and picturesque bathing experience surrounded by nature. It’s best to visit the Cardwell Spa Pool between May and September, as the rainy season during summer raises the water level to an unfavorable level for visiting.

Discover the most breathtaking waterfalls of Queensland on the waterfalls circuit towards Atherton Tablelands. Millaa Millaa Falls, the most renowned of them all, is located just 40 minutes from Atherton and 1 hour and 15 minutes from Mission Beach.

Visit the stunning Josephine Falls, made up of two parts – the upper section that offers a beautiful view, and the lower section with its naturally formed slides due to erosion.

Take a swim in the natural pool at Babinda Boulders. There is also a very pleasant walk along the river where you will see rocks with shapes polished by the river.
